Food for Thought
Courtesy of a previous blog post written by my sister, Kelsey. These were too good not to share with you! Embrace and honor the individual differences in each of us...they are the things that make this world unique and and interesting. If anyone has any others of similar character or stature, feel free to send them my way :-) Happy Sunday...hope you're all relaxing and watching football, I'm off to work the day away!

Oh how I miss having him on the bench. Almost as much as I miss his post-game press conferences!

Hockey season also gives me more chances to hear "O Canada!", my most favorite anthem! Thinking about making the trek to Toronto this winter when the Wild play the Maple Leafs :)

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.
The words and photo above come straight from the Apple homepage, the man and the legacy instantaneously more important than any product or technology a company could ever sell. Almost every company and website I've seen this morning has their own tribute to the man behind Apple--Steve Jobs. Visionary, revolutionary, inspiring, creative genius, transformative, innovative, and pioneering are all words that are seemingly becoming synonymous with his name.
Never thought I'd write two separate blog posts about Apple in the same week. Given the news of his death, I thought I'd share with you Steve Jobs' famous commencement address to the Stanford University class of 2005. I stumbled upon it a few months back after hearing that it was a must--often touted as one of the best. It's good. Definitely worth viewing if you haven't seen it yet...or if you have, to watch again. Just a little reminder to live life to the fullest, choose each day to do what you love and love what you do, and always seek out opportunities to make even the slightest difference in our crazy, hectic world!

It's October...Pumpkin Time
I'm definitely ready for fall. What could be more cozy than slipping into a great pair of sweats and my favorite hoodie and curling up on the couch with a blanket, my hubby, and the pups? Now if only I could stay there all day and NOT have to head to work. The crisp fall air is a great change from hot, muggy, summer nights. However...the past week or so has been COLD and DAMP. I'm sure it's quite possible that it will never stop raining in central PA, no joke. Perhaps we really moved to Seattle and just didn't know it. Either way, I've spent the past few days chilled to the bone and (if you know me well enough) absolutely refusing to give in and turn the heat on. After all, it's only the first week of October! The wet, cool weather didn't stop us from hitting up the pumpkin patch and getting a few fall decorations last weekend.
After a stop at the Strites Orchard store to grab a giant white pumpkin, some crazy looking gourds, and some fresh apple cider, we completed our shopping for fall decor by grabbing a couple of brightly colored purple and magenta mums that I've been eyeing for the past few weeks. Fall decorating...done.

All is well, those performance tires do a damn good job off-roading :)

iAnticipation
I think it's official...both Mike and I have turned into those crazy Apple people. Well, not crazy, but we've definitely jumped on the anticipation bandwagon with regard to any new, up and coming, Apple product launches. In particular, we've been awaiting the release of the iPhone 5 which *hopefully* will be announced today! After all, we resisted the urge to purchase the iPhone 4 when it came out last year, specifically saying that we'd just wait for the 5...as if we really need to drop a couple hundred dollars on a new phone.
Apple has no doubt become the king of marketing and pre-product hype, generating huge buzz and demand for their new products before the products are even announced. I'm no marketing guru, but somebody over there knows what they're doing. I mean, seriously, look at the announcement invitation they sent out last week. And so the waiting continues...until 1000 PDT, that is (1300 EDT for us folks on the East coast). Happy Tuesday everyone :)
